Women Enterprise Development
Women Entreprise Development Programmes aim :
To develop potential women as entrepreneurs
To encourage and establish women in income generation activities by providing opportunities in the non-farm sector
To enable them to become financially independent by equipping them to establish and successfully manage their own ventures.

Women play a very crucial role in the overall development process. Therefore, ICECD lays special emphasis on providing entrepreneurial training to uplift the economic condition and status of women. One of the core areas of ICECD’s activities is the Women Enterprise Development Programme (WEDP) to help create, promote and manage Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. It encompasses:
Enhancing entrepreneurial competencies
Assistance in project identification and management for effective resource mobilization
Extending technical, financial and policy support to women entrepreneurs.

This enables women to become involved in income generating activities and contribute financially to their family, thus becoming financially independent.
