These programmes focused on increasing people’s awareness of hazards arising out of poor upkeep of surrounding environment and use of unhygienic drinking water. Activities include:

  • Awareness camps on clean water, waste water disposal, importance and impact of cleanliness
  • Rain water harvesting structures
  • Developing soak pits and kitchen gardens
  • Tree plantation, afforestation for better environment
  • Cleaning of streets and community places
  • Sanitation facilities


  • Thousands of chlorine tablets distributed for safe drinking water
  • 175 soakpits and 290 kitchen gardens developed
  • Thousands of trees planted
  • Drinking water awareness campaigns for 25 villages
  • DDT sprayed in 250 villages to control Malaria
