India is facing an interesting economic scenario where entrepreneurship Development has emerged as an effective measure to develop micro and small enterprises and to generate employment. Entrepreneurship driven companies are increasingly gaining prominence, especially in the Science & Technology sector where entrepreneurs have built global operations.
Many with science and technical background have realized the need for entrepreneurship, however the non-availability of professional courses for enterprise management is the bottleneck they face.
ICECD has taken up the challenge to offer such training courses based on its experiences of developing entrepreneurs over the last two decades. So far, the centre has already conducted several Entrepreneurship Development programmes for women with Science & Technology background – at national / regional level with the support of National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB) and the Indian Ministry of Science and Technology.
In the context, ICECD has developed specific approaches and training modules to initiate and enable successful enterprise development amongst these graduate women.
The course contents are continuously updated, including the instruction material – as per the development taking place at global standards. |
The centre has trained over 500 women (Science & Technical Graduates) who have started successful business with investment over Rs.10 million, in fields like Automobiles, Electrical Appliances, Chemicals etc. |
