MICRO ENTREPRENEURSHIP - MICRO CREDIT DIVISION
ICECD has been actively engaged in promoting and supporting youth (both women and men) for taking up self-employment and entrepreneurship since July 1996 under a very specialized micro finance initiative.
AIM : TO ERADICATE POVERTY THROUGH CREATION OF MICRO/SMALL ENTERPRISES/BUSINESSES BY PROVISION OF NEED BASED CREDIT AND RECYCLING THE CREDIT FOR ASSET/WEALTH CREATION.

To identify potential youth, assess their training/credit needs and develop their credit management and entrepreneurial capabilities |

To evolve an effective credit delivery and monitoring system for micro enterprise creation. |

To enable the borrowers to increase their creditworthiness and demonstrate business success, thereby mainstreaming them. |
The initiative has enabled sustainable enterprises to emerge, thus leading to income generation for over 10,000 youth.
Credit Plus Model
Self sustaining micro credit for micro enterprise creation amongst rural and urban poor has been demonstrating business success for the target group and making them credit worthy, thus mainstreaming them with formal financial system. The programme has achieved self-sufficiency and sustainability in terms of revolving credit fund. Total loan distribution is Rs. 90,91,559 reaching to more than 3000 clients over 79 locations. Such experiences and programmes are being replicated in India along with various pother countries of Asia and Africa.
