| Credit and Finance for Micro and Small Enterprises | |
The course
proposed to provide a much needed platform to share experiences amongst
policy makers, bankers and women development agencies and thereby help to
evolve need-based credit schemes for economic development of women. The
purpose of the training programme is to bring together a group of people
who wish to share their experiences and learn. The end result is anticipated
to be increased flow of credit to the poor, especially women. |
| Training of Facilitators for Women Entrepreneurship | |
The programme
provides and opportunity to functionaries working in diverse institutional
situations; programmes and project based governmental and non-governmental
organizations to acquire a thorough grounding in conceptual, analytical
and applied techniques relevant to the responsibilities not only in the
field of women entrepreneurship but to several women’s economic development
issues. |
| Capacity Building for Managers of Women Economic Development (WED) programmes in GOs and NGOs | |
The objective
of this programme is to develop expertise within the existing organizations
for more effective management in planning and implementation of women economic
development activities/programmes. This has focused to strengthen manpower/human
resource capabilities of these organizations to initiate, integrate and
implement self-sustaining women economic development activities within their
existing programs and also to help the participants to develop techniques
for formulating strategies to revive the existing enterprises. |
| Group Entrepreneurship and Co-operatives for Rural Women | |
This programme
aims to equip the participants with grassroots level experiences and strategies
to motivate, train and support rural women groups. The specific objectives
being to provide training for leading rural women groups towards income
generation/self employment and also to develop the skills of identifying,
motivating and training illiterate poor rural women for developing their
entrepreneurial and managerial capabilities. |
| Training of Trainers for Women Economic Empowerment | |
This programme
provides an opportunity to functionaries working in diverse institutional
situations; programme and project based governmental and non-governmental
organizations, to acquire a thorough grounding in conceptual, analytical
and applied techniques relevant to their responsibilities not only in the
field of women economic empowerment, but to several women’s economic
development issues. This programme aims to create a pool of professionally
trained trainers in order to consolidate manpower resources of institutions
and developmental agencies for greater diffusion of this movement of women’s
economic empowerment. |
| Training of Trainers for Gender and Development | |
This programme
aims to enable participants to be well equipped with gender and development
aspects at individual/organizational levels. It also helps to comprehensively
conceptualist and understand gender issues and its relevance to projects
and actual work/impact of the project. The overall objective is to reinforce
participants motivation and abilities to development training skills aimed
at promoting sustainable development by integrating gender issues in their
projects. |
| Income Generation for Poverty Alleviation | |
This programme
aims to equip the participants with grassroots level experiences and strategies
to motivate, train and support the poor. This provide training for leading
the poor towards income generation/self-employment and also to develop skills
for identifying, motivating, and training the poor for developing their
entrepreneurial and managerial capabilities. This programme will help build
institutional capabilities, and provide definitive skills to rural functionaries,
community development workers/officers, and trainers or extension officers,
for initiating and implementing similar programmes in their countries. |
| Training of Trainers for Poverty Alleviation through Sustainable Micro Enterprise Development | |
This programme
would enable development of the skills of professional trainers to support,
guide and train the grassroots people to create sustainable micro enterprises.
A comprehensive approach has been designed for capacity building of the
poor for product identification, technology orientation and managing skills
for micro-enterprises. This programme has been designed based on the centre’s
rich experiences of training and research at national and international
levels. |
| Integrating Gender for Equitable Development | |
Gender training
is one of the strategies used to promote justice within the development
process. This will bring about a social transformation by incorporating
a gender perspective at all levels of project analysis and planning. The
demand for mainstreaming gender in the policies, programmes, organizational
set up, culture as well as management styles requires creative answers.
In response to this challenge, ICECD offers programme for Integrating Gender
for Equitable Development. This programme is designed for managers, coordinators,
senior staff, gender experts, trainers and consultants engaged in developmental
activities. They will be men and women expected to incorporate a gender
perspective in the decision making process within governmental, non governmental
and international organizations, rural developmental projects, training
institutions as well as donor agencies. |
| Programme for Developing effective Business Development Services – BDS (for small and micro enterprises – beyond credit) | |
The objective
of this programme is to develop capability of interested development organizations
and facilitating adoption of effective business development services for
development of SMEs. The proposed programme aims to focus on providing skills
and knowledge to design and manage BDS interventions, alongwith conceptual
and practical understanding of varieties of BDS encompassing supply and
demand driven interventions for creating micro/small entrepreneurs. The
participating agencies will be equipped to develop and implement appropriate
BDS for men and women, keeping a balanced gender perspective in consideration. |
| Small Business/Enterprise Promotion Through Appropriate Technology | |
This programme
was designed based on ICECD's 15 years expereinces in promoting non-conventional
technologies like packaging, plastics, food products, garments and hosiery,
leather and rexine products, hand-made products, stapler pins, salt making
etc. This programme will provide training in entrepreneurship and technology
for enabling participants to promoteSMEs using such technologies. These
are proven technologies wherein entrepreneurs earn Us $ 650 to US $ 4000
per year. |
| Capacity Building for Providing Sustainable Livelihood | |
With increasing
initiatives to promote micro enterprises and micro credit, the primary concern
is to identify capable poor, viable projects and provide appropriate linkages
for market and technology. For this task, upgrading the skills of functionaries
of involved agencies is necessary for multiplier impact. This program is,
thus conceived to consolidate the capabilities of such agencies and eliminate
the gap between the requisite specialized skills and the existing capabilities.
As a result, they will not only successfully initiate and implement the
livelihood support programmes, but also appropriately utilize the local
schemes and funds available through various existing programmes in the country.
ICECD's experiences over the years in developing economic self-sufficiency
for innumerable poor has finally made it possible to evolve need-based,
tested and validated strategies and training modules. Therefore this program
aims to provide opportunities for strengthening and expanding economic activities
in a sustainable manner for better livelihood for poor. |
| Building Community based Micro Finance Systems | |
ICECD has been promoting micro enterprises with micro credit support through SHGs since many years. It has adopted a successful approach not only of extending micro credit to SHGs but also of creating micro enterprise and providing adequate income to the deprived people to facilitate them to come out of their poverty. The program has been designed to share successful strategies and approaches to build community based micro finance organizations. The program is designed to appraise and train all those who wish to initiate, design and implement micro finance program for the poor, through creation of a community based micro finance organization (or through existing organizations by adopting these strategies). |
| Improving effectiveness of Business Development Services | |
This programme focusing on enhancing capabilities of BDS providers, providing skills and knowledge to effectively disseminate quality services, and manage BDS interventions along with conceptual and practical understanding of varieties of business services involving the demand and supply requirements and gaps especially in the micro and small enterprise sector. With the increasing demand on Gos/NGOs to adopt and execute professional approaches to different services, it is imperative that they build their capacity to design and deliver appropriate BDS to their clients and also improve the outreach, sustainability and impact of services delivered. The participating agencies will be able to develop market oriented self-sustaining BDS by using an innovative blend of better management techniques, new technologies and novel approaches. |
| Your role as a specialist in Women Entrepreneurship | |
The prime objective of this programme is to create better understanding of Women Entrepreneurship Development strategies and develop requisite knowledge and skills in the participants. The programme prioritizes to develop skills within country for designing and successfully conducting WED programs for women hailing from various strata of the society (poor, low, income, middle income), to re-organize the welfare-oriented approach to result-oriented empowerment approach for economic development of women, to train specialists/facilitators of developing countries who may, in turn initiate and successfully implement the programs in their respective countries and to create a pool of professionally trained specialists in order to consolidate manpoer resources of institutions and developmental agencies for greater diffusion of this movement of women's economic empowerment. |
