Ramilaben became a member of SHG Scheme started with Rs.25/- month saving scheme. She came to this village after marriage and presently having 3 sons, who are doing labour work in the farm.
Though there was various programmes on Health and literacy, Ramilaben was initially not interested in joining the scheme. But later on, she came know that there was vacancy in the primary school of the village for the post of women helper who can serve water etc., for which the minimum reading and writing skills were the criteria. Ramilaben participated in the night workshop organised by ICECD and learnt writing. She was then able to write the name of her Village and also learnt to put her signature. Ramilaben progressed further and learnt to write names of students, 1 to 100 and also learnt to read the main headings of Guajrat Samachar news paper. Finally Ramilaben was given certificate by ICECD, got job in primary school of the village and remained very happy on her achievement. She left labour work and started doing more decent job.
