“The convocation on the 27th of May 2010 is an exciting time at ICMS… our reputation as a Center for Excellence is growing and we are looking forward to scaling new heights, as we create professionals to fill the huge demand for professional managers in the field of development.  With over half a million emerging job opportunities, on one hand there is a herd mentality to flock to MBA courses, on the other hand, there is a severe dearth of development professionals and experts resulting in a huge gap between the demand and availability of such experts. ICMS continues to   create development professionals with a difference to fill this gap”, says ICMS director Ms. Hina Shah. Eminent personalities such as Dr. Pravin Laheri(Director, Torrent Energy Ltd.), Mr. Vidyut Joshi (Eminent Sociologist & Writer) and Dr. Parimal Trivedi(Vice Chancellor, Gujarat University) graced the convocation and addressed the 27 pass outs – sharing with them the emerging opportunities and scope in the development sector.

The ICECD College of Management Studies (ICMS) specialized courses in Entrepreneurship Management, Rural Development management and NGO management have been designed to accommodate new paradigm of development so that students may find themselves as the most important Human Resources. One unique feature of ICMS students is their skillful ability to manage both grass root development and core management at the apex level. 

Through these courses, particular attention is focused on cross cutting issues contributing to the achievement  global objectives  of poverty reduction, promoting human rights, gender equality, goal governance , the rights of children, environmental sustainability and combating HIV / AIDS as well as offer self employment  and employment opportunity to the Rural population. The centre has developed many successful professionals who are placed in key positions at multifarious organizations, funding agencies, corporate sector’s CSR departments, NGOs, voluntary development organizations both at the national and international level. Students who took the EME course are ready to start their own enterprises, and ICMS wished them luck and success.  Many of ICMS alumni are successful social entrepreneurs as well as business entrepreneurs.
