ICECD is actively involved in fostering income Generation / Entrepreneurship in developing countries by providing support and consultancy at different levels. As a part of its global operations, the centre has trained more than 600 trainers of 55 developing countries where these trainers/facilitators have successfully replicated the ICECD models in their countries.

Few important areas in which ICECD Models and activities have been implemented in developing countries are  :-

1 Training needs assessment and curriculum employment for training has been taken up by ICECD in Srilanka, Namibia, Indonesia & Bangladesh
To assess training needs and develop curriculum for different target groups in a given country, systematic training needs surveys can be undertaken. (recommended man days 10- 15).

Project identification and preparing viable project profiles has been implemented in Africa and Cambodia by ICECD experts.
Before launching a training programme, it is advisable to carry out a survey to identify viable products/projects based on the local skills and resources. To replicate this in any country, the recommended working days are 10 – 15 man days.

Technology identification and Technology transfer of MSMEs has been facilitated in Nigeria, Ghana, Indonesia, Tonga, Srilanka, Zambia, Zimbabwe & Malawi.
Identification of appropriate technology and providing technology transfer is essential so that poor people can be led towards non-traditional or traditional viable products.  (recommended work 20 – 25 man days.)

Sensitization workshop for policy makers and support agencies in Tanzania, Nigeria, Malayasia, Nepal, Bangladesh & Brunei
To create conducive support environment for income generation/Entrepreneurship Development activities, short duration workshops of 1 to 4 days are planned and implemented by ICECD experts. This helps in identifying the policy readjustment requirements and the need for institutional coordination amongst support agencies. ( recommended work 7 to 8 man days) 
5 Demonstration / Pilot programmes
To start with pilot programmes for developing entrepreneurs may be initiated and closely monitored and supported by the experts from ICECD. One or two such pilot/demonstration programmes can act as the basic model and then be adopted by replicating it at national level in the country. This has  been done in countries like Gambia, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Nepal, Pakistan and South Africa. (Recommended work 25 to 35 days)  
6 Strengthening existing Income Generation/Poverty Alleviation
In countries where interventions for poverty alleviation have been initiated, there is a need to strengthen the existing programmes for cost-effective results in the areas of selecting entrepreneurs providing training and follow up support, etc. ICECD's expertise over the above has successfully enabled effective poverty alleviation in various developing countries. (Recommended work min 7 to max. 15 days)

Organisational Capacity Building for Institutionalizing Entrepreneurship activities within the country
To institutionalize Entrepreneurship in the country, ICECD builds up a central nucleus. It may be an NGO or a Govt. agency. This nucleus organization can then identify other Govt. or NGO organizations, train the trainers within the country, prepare training materials and teaching aids to suit local situations.
ICECD has Institutionalize  Entrepreneurship in countries like :-Australia, Barbados, Bangladesh,Botswana, Brunei, China, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Granada, Guyana, Indonesia, India, Israel, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Maldives, Mozambique, Malaysia, Namibia, Nigeria, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, South Africa, Seychelles, Saints Kitts, Solomon Islands, Sierra Leone, Saint, Lucia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Swaziland, Thailand, Tonga, Trinidad, Tanzania, Uganda, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Western Samoa, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
(Recommended working days to implement this would be 20 to 30 days)
