ICECD : Mission
  • To create a large pool of entrepreneurs through increasing their access over productive resources and foster the process of non-reversible developmental change.
  • To enable socio-economic and political empowerment of the disadvantaged population, especially women.
 
Our Approach
The Centre has a gender sensitive, pro-poor, need based, participatory approach in all its interventions that are carried out as per the needs of the society. Tribal and ruralwomen at the grassroots level make a vital section of the center's target group.

    social/economic/politicalempowerment.
  • An order where self-employment and entrepreneurship promotion through micro small and medium enterprise development ushers in self sufficiency.
 
ICECD: Our Outreach
The multiplier effect of ICECD's endeavours has reached 55 developed/developing countries of Asia, Africa, Caribbean and Pacific regions, with more than 875 organizations and 4500 trainers having been trained in the international arena.
In India over 540 organizations and 1250 trainers have been trained, along with directly and indirectly developingmore than 10,00,000womenentrepreneurs.
 
Genesis of ICECD
International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (ICECD), a non-government organization was born in 1986 with a dream to facilitate socio-economic and political empowerment of the underprivileged through micro/small enterprise development. The center's interventions revolve around income generation through self-employment/entrepreneurial activities, encompassing a wide cross section of the society.
A pioneer in designing and implementing Entrepreneurship Training Programmes for women, now the centre is working with business communities, government departments and development agencies across Asia, Africa, Pacific and Caribbean countries. ICECD has trained over 10,000 NGO/GO Persons, who in turn have developed the capacity of thousands of individuals and organizations. ICECD, recognized as a centre of excellence by the United Nations/ESCAP, has many more dreams to create a betterworld.
