CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is an effective tool that synergies efforts of the corporates and the social sector agencies towards sustainable growth and development of societal objectives at large. The emerging global challenges are showing that development cannot be approached in isolation. The Corporate business world has proven this point through the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives.
Against this backdrop, ICECD has organized this Seminar wherein some of the most successful models of CSR activities were shared and discussed by over 150 Corporate and NGOs (like IL&FS, NABARD, CAIRN ENERGY, ADANI, TORRENT and others) from all over India. The participants were able to learn from and adapt the models to apply the same in their CSR activities. The seminar provided a platform to create a link amongst the network of Government, Non-Government Organizations and the Corporate Sector to chart out a mandate for future sustainable rural development interventions.
ICECD has worked extensively towards Rural Development in all the districts of Gujarat, further reaching out to each state of India and over 62 other developing countries enabling socio-economic empowerment of men/women/youth – world over. For this ICECD recognized as a Centre of Excellence by the United Nations-ESCAP.
Mrs Hina Shah, Director - ICECD said, “I am extremely happy with the overwhelming response to this unique initiative of bringing the corporate sector and the NGO and Government sector on the same platform to further Rural Development, which is the need of the day. In the past, ICECD, has successfully partnered with corporate giants such as Bharat Motors, Bharat Gas, Gujarat Gas, Tata Chemicals, Hindustan Lever, etc, in their CSR(Corporate Social Responsibility) interventions, achieving excellent results – thus successfully bridging the gap between Rural Development and Urban/Corporate growth. I am sure this seminar will go a long way to create a network to boost sustainable Rural development “
The one-day seminar will had presentations, discussions and deliberations among participants and resource persons. This endeavor of ICECD advocated more vital and proactive role of the Corporate Sector in the development plans, to create networking of Government Organizations, NGOs and the Corporate and chalk out future strategies to facilitate CSR. |
