Mission-:To create a large pool of entrepreneurs through increasing their access over productive resources and foster the process of non-reversible development change.
To enable Socio-economic and political empowerment of the disadvantage population, especially women.

Genesis:- International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (ICECD), was born in 1986 with a dream to facilitate socio-Economic and Political Empowerment of the underprivileged through micro/small enterprise development.The center's Self-Employment/Entrepreneurial activities, Encompassing a wide cross section of the society.
A Pioneer in designing and implementing Entrepreneurship training programmes for women, today the centre is working with Business Communities, government Departments and Development agencies across Asia, Africa, Pacific and Caribbean countries. ICECD has trained over 10,000 trainers directly, who in turn have developed the capacity of thousands of individuals and organizations. ICECD recognized as a centre of excellence by the United Nation/ESCAP, has many more dreams to create a better world.

Approach:- The Centre has a Gender sensitive, Pro-poor, Need based, Participatory approach in all its interventions that are carried out as per the needs of the society. Tribal and Rural women at the grassroots level make a vital section of the center's target group.

Core Management

Set up by experts in the field of entrepreneurship, economics, technology, behavioral science and small industry management, ICECD has emerged as a pioneer in designing and implementing the entrepreneurial development initiatives for women by tapping their hidden potential and entrepreneurial sprits. The centre derives its strength from its multi-disciplinary group of qualified and trained counsellors, possessing a judicious blend of business, academic and industrial experience.

A full time faculty backed by years of rich experience in enterprise management/education/training/developing and supporting entrepreneurship at national and international levels in constantly at work. In addition to acting as a consultant on entrepreneurship in developing countries, ICECD also draws needed expertise from practicing professionals, technical experts, existing businessmen and academicians.

Over the years, the centre has gradually built up its capabilities and expanded its activities into the international arena. Initiation of innovative pilot projects and authenticating these economic and social development modules through activities at the grassroots level has augmented the organizational capacity building process to an extent that many other countries have successfully replicated its experiences.

THE GENDER PERSPECTIVE

Providing need based inputs for integration of gender issues in various developmental projects (Socio-Economic and Political) has resulted in increasing women's effective participation in mainstream activities. With specially designed "Employment Generation" and "Self Employment/Entrepreneurship Development" modules for women, ICECD has enabled over 100,000 women to become equal partners in the mainstream projects
